Medical equipment when travelling on business

Are you going on a business trip? During a flight and at the airport, it is possible and sometimes necessary for medical equipment to be taken along. You can check, via your employer, with your airline to see if this equipment is permitted on board.

Oxygen

If you need oxygen during the flight, please let your employer know in good time. They must inform the airline of this before you travel. Emergency oxygen is only available on board in case of emergencies.

For flight safety reasons, it is not permitted to use your own oxygen cylinders on board. Most airlines do allow the use of a ‘Portable Oxygen Concentrator’. Please check with your employer or airline to find out which concentrators are permitted.

If you wish to bring your own oxygen tanks with you on your journey, you must check them in along with your baggage. The tanks must always be empty and unpressurised.
