Aim and result
As a shiftleader, you operate based on the company's emergency plan. In the event of an emergency or fire, you'll operationally manage all the emergency response teams present in your organisation. You'll signal for action, allocate tasks among the various emergency response teams, and serve as the point of contact for both colleagues and professional emergency services. You'll ensure that the emergency response teams remain trained and manage the emergency response resources. After completing the Shiftleader refresher course, you'll be able to effortlessly apply the knowledge you've acquired in practice.
Programme
Part one is all about theory. Part two is practical and focuses on training as a shiftleader. This includes a practical assignment, which is part of the exam. The practical assignments are carried out and exchanged with fellow students. You will learn the following:
- Health & Safety legislation and regulations
- Assessing safety aspects in daily and emergency situations
- Organisation of company emergency response
- Training and management of company emergency response officers
- Communication during deployment of company emergency response
- Evacuation tactics and techniques
- Management and control of resources
- Drawing up company emergency response exercises
